Phantom Brave
May 26, 2005
phantombutton.gif Phantom Brave is a tactical role playing game, alike in many ways to more popular games like ?Final Fantasy Tactics,? ?Fire Emblem? and ?Advance Wars.? However Phantom Brave succeeds in tearing apart the idea of what a tactical rpg is, and re-building it in a way that retains the strategy driven premise of the genre, without becoming just another face in the crowd, and more importantly, without being dull.

Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne (PS2)
November 26, 2004
button.jpgAlmost every time I start an RPG, I last a handful of hours and come out with a list of reasons why I don?t care enough to finish the game, or even enjoy what I did play of it. Luckily, SMT: Nocturne has changed some of my views and made an RPG that I actually deem worth playing through all 50+ hours of.

Katamari Damaci Review
September 26, 2004
button.jpgI don?t know what Katamari Damacy means. Chances are it?s probably Japanese for ?Super Crazy Fun Magnetic Gravitational Ball of Wonderful Fun-ness,? or something like that. Really, though, it doesn?t matter. To me it means, ?The best reason to play my Playstation 2 in a long, long time.?

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (GameCube)
April 08, 2004
popsmall.jpg I wasn't going to review this game. I wasn't even going to play it ever again. I reviewed this game because I wanted it to be so much better than it was. It's a shining example of wasted potential.
Anyone who wanted to play it probably already has and this review isn't going to convince anyone who didn't want to play it to do so now. So why'd I write it at all? Because I had a point to make.

Mario Kart: Double Dash!!
November 27, 2003
Mario Kart has been one of my favorites for a long time. Super Mario Kart accounts for a good deal of my happiest childhood memories, while Mario Kart 64 provided a great nostalgia rush, with bigger tracks, new items, and improved ideas. It?s been years since the last major-console release of a Mario Kart game, but here it is...

Mario Golf
November 02, 2003
It seems like nowadays games have to be completely in-your-face and full of explosions to be “worth playing.” Often times when a game comes out, a good, solid, fun game that doesn’t live up to this expectation of being extreme, it ends up getting overlooked. This, friends, is one of those games.
